Tips From Our Drivers: Geneva Chauffeur Service, Airport and Ski Transfers
Ten questions, ten answers from our team, drawn from about ten years of transfers in Geneva and the region: meeting you at the airport, flight delays, the road to the ski resorts, snow, luggage, the French border and choosing your vehicle.
Answers from our team, drawn from about ten years of transfers in Geneva and the surrounding region. Updated 1 November 2026.
How does your chauffeur meet you at Geneva Airport?
We welcome you on the side of the airport you choose, Swiss or French. Your chauffeur waits for you with a tablet showing your name.
We follow your flight: 24 hours before landing, you receive a message with your chauffeur’s name, the vehicle’s number plate and your chauffeur’s phone number. Shortly after landing, we send you another message, and our dispatcher coordinates your pick-up.
What happens if your flight is delayed?
Your chauffeur waits for you. One hour of waiting is included in the price, counted from the actual landing time of your plane. Beyond that, waiting is charged per 30-minute block; its price depends on the vehicle, so feel free to ask us for a quote.
As long as your flight lands on the planned day, we carry out your transfer. One day, a flight changed its arrival time four times: 6 hours in total between the planned and the actual landing time. We were there, and we will be there for you.
How much time should you allow on the road to the ski resorts at the weekend?
On Saturdays and Sundays, nobody can predict the exact arrival time: it all depends on traffic jams, sometimes an accident, and the snow. One thing is almost certain: allow at least one hour more than usual.
We choose the route from the latest traffic information: the one with the fewest traffic jams, no accident and a clear road. For the return to the airport, we always advise our clients to leave the resort with a 2-hour margin, on top of the travel time and the time needed for check-in.
How do we drive on snow?
All our vehicles have winter tyres and Mercedes 4MATIC all-wheel drive. For safety, we also carry snow chains in case of a heavy snowstorm.
If a real problem prevents access to your destination, we stay with you until the end and, if needed, drop you at another address. Our chauffeur never leaves a client stranded.
Luggage, skis, children and pets: which vehicle should you choose?
The V-Class takes about 8 large suitcases. For skis and snowboards, it all depends on the number of passengers: when the vehicle is full, seats cannot be folded down to fit them; with fewer people, there is room. For groups carrying a lot of skis and luggage, we advise a maximum of 4 people per van: the luggage space then increases considerably.
In the E-Class and the S-Class, space is very limited: count on 2, at most 3 suitcases, and 2 pairs of skis at most. The Sprinter takes more than 10 pieces of luggage. For a ski trip, we strongly recommend the V-Class, which is far more comfortable, especially as our V-Class vehicles are the extra-long version.
We have child seats and booster seats, included in the price at no extra cost. Pets are welcome, provided they travel in suitable equipment, with protection for the vehicle.
Crossing the border is very simple: most of the time, we drive through without stopping. Sometimes customs stop us. They ask whether you have anything to declare and may look at your passports. That is all. So bring your passport.
Cash must be declared to customs from 10,000 euros. From 5,000 euros, we advise you to carry proof of where it comes from, for example your bank’s withdrawal receipt: customs may ask for it. The same applies to high-value jewellery or gold.
Who uses our chauffeur service?
Our clients come from all walks of life: families going skiing or booking a chauffeur at their disposal in Geneva, business travellers, delegations, people attending conferences or the Davos Forum. We also carry out simple transfers, from Geneva Airport to any address, and from any address to the airport.
We do not tell anecdotes: everything that happens with our clients stays confidential.
Who are our chauffeurs?
We have been doing this job for about ten years, in Geneva and the surrounding region. All our chauffeurs speak French and English; some also speak Arabic, Spanish or Italian.
We select them with great care: all the cantonal licences and professional documents required, a clean criminal record and an interview. With us, dress is a standard: suit, tie, always well dressed. Punctuality is a basic principle, and discretion is more than essential.
Our tips for preparing your transfer
The most common mistake is booking at the last minute. In high season, in winter for skiing as in summer, many clients want a specific vehicle on a specific date. When demand is high, that is not always possible. Our advice: book ahead. Once your transfer is confirmed with us, we can organise everything more easily.
Give as much information as possible when you book, with us or with anyone else: the number of bags and any special need to know before the transfer. That leaves time to prepare and adapt. And if your request is not the best fit for your situation, we advise you and guide you to the best solution for you.
Think of the return trip: booked at the same time, it gives you 10% off. With a family, or if you have a little more luggage than planned, choose a Mercedes V-Class instead: it offers more comfort and more room for luggage. It is the best value for money.
To catch a flight, do not leave for the airport at the last minute: an accident on the motorway, snow or anything unexpected can make you late.
Finally, even if you do not travel with us, be careful: some less serious companies take payment for the transfer without providing the service. We often see clients at the airport who have paid, but nobody came to pick them up.
Why choose a private chauffeur service rather than a taxi or a shuttle?
Ours is a premium service, of real quality, with very good value for money. It is not at all the same standard as a shared shuttle: a shuttle is less comfortable, it is neither private nor confidential, it is more like public transport. We offer you a service adapted to your needs, at the time that suits you. You save time, for a price that is not necessarily much higher than a shared shuttle, and about the same as a taxi.
What our clients notice most is our dispatch service, available 24/7 and very efficient: we answer their requests as quickly as possible. Our after-sales service is very responsive, and the quality of our chauffeurs and services is remarkable: you can read it in our clients’ reviews. We are also very flexible: we do everything we can to accommodate our clients.
Our service also helps families a great deal, often large ones, with babies, luggage and skis, especially in a country that is not their own. We support them in these moments: they gain time and comfort, they carry much less and are less tired, and the journey becomes simpler. They start their holiday in good conditions, and in a good mood to enjoy it. The same goes for the return, at the end of a holiday or a business trip: the whole journey becomes simpler, faster and more professional, with far less to organise.
At major events, our clients appreciate having a reliable partner who helps them plan everything and takes a heavy organisational load off their shoulders. All the logistics, every journey from one place to another, are handled by us and supervised by our dispatch service. The organisers can then focus on everything else. That is the difference too: flexibility, freedom and a considerable time saving.
